What you will finish

The finished project

Everyday AI for Adults: your own first n8n workflow, built and tested (Build 1 needs no accounts), and a capstone you choose, build, test and document. Safe and Simple AI 60+: your own Claude account on your own phone, a family safe word and a callback number you saved yourself.

Build 1, Today's Plan Card, run on n8n 2.40.7 on 29 Sep 2026: with minutes set to 15 it ends at "Do it now."; with 30 it ends at "Split into two smaller steps."

What you'll be able to do

Learn to question AI, use Claude safely for everyday tasks, and, in the adult edition, build your first useful automation. The large-print edition puts scam safety first and takes one step at a time. Buy one edition, or both for a household where more than one generation is learning.

  • Ask better and check better: every lesson includes a step for checking the answer.
  • Set up Claude on your own account, with privacy settings you understand.
  • Spot voice-clone calls, deepfakes and AI-polished phishing, and know what to do if a scam gets through.
  • Build a first automation in n8n that logs and flags, and leaves the decision to you (adult edition).

Human review is the method

The approval step, shown

  1. The request

Build 4, Inbox sorting by label: a made-up email labelled AI-COURSE-TEST arrives in a test Gmail account.

  2. The draft

The workflow keeps four fields for the Inbox log sheet: message_id, from: Test Sender <test.sender@example.com>, subject: AI course test 1, review_needed: true. The message body is dropped.

  3. It stops here for review

review_needed is true, so a person decides what happens next.

  4. If you approve

You reply, file or delete the email yourself, in Gmail.

  5. If nobody answers

The email stays where it is. The workflow never replies, sends or deletes.

What this control doesn't do. The build has no send, reply or delete step: its only Gmail node is the trigger, which reads. It can't judge the email for you; it only makes sure each one is logged for a person to look at.

If you get stuck

Troubleshooting preview

Setup issue A loud failure: the run stops with an error
Example input
In Today's task, minutes set to type String with the value 15
What you see
Wrong type: '15' is a string but was expecting a number [condition 0, item 0]

Change minutes back to type Number where it is set, then run again: the advice is "Do it now."

Setup issue A quiet failure: success, but the wrong answer
Example input
The If condition reads {{ $json.minute }} and minutes is 30
What you see
Status success, advice "Do it now." (wrong: 30 is more than 20)

Open the If node: the expression preview shows no value. Correct it to {{ $json.minutes }}, run again, and check for "Split into two smaller steps."

Setup issue Success, but a column in the Sheet row is empty

Open the node that sets that field and read its input. The field is probably named differently, for example Subject with a capital S.

Tested with

What was checked, and when

  • n8n (Docker image) · 2.40.7 checked 29 Sep 2026

All four workflow files imported with no errors and exported identically. Build 1 ran end to end. The Google Sheets and Gmail steps of Builds 2 to 4 were not run: they need a real Google login.

For two people

Learn together: an older learner and a family member

Two adults: an older learner and a family member, at one table or by phone. Claude is for adults 18 and over, so only adults use the Claude lessons; a teenager can join the workbook's Drill 7, never Claude.

Uses: The Family AI-Scam Defense Workbook and AI for Every Age.

  1. First sitting: make the plan

Both, at the kitchen table, with the workbook printed

Read Parts 1 to 5 together, choose your safe word out loud, write your callback list, run two drills, fill in the "If it happens" page and put the cards up. The workbook's own timetable for this sitting adds up to about an hour and a half.

  2. Second sitting: the older learner's own Claude account

The older learner types; the family member sits beside them

Safe and Simple AI 60+, Lesson 0.1, then Lesson 3.1: the learner creates a free Claude account on their own phone with their own email. Accounts can't be shared.

  3. Practise the call that sounds like family

The family member reads the caller's lines; the learner answers

Safe and Simple AI 60+, Lesson 6.2: six steps with a made-up call. Ask for the family word, say "I'll call you right back", hang up, and call back on a number you saved yourself.

  4. If you live far apart: a drill by phone

    Both, on an arranged call

Agree the day and time first, say "This is a drill" at the start and the end, and ring back straight away as yourself to ask how it felt. Drills 1 and 2 work this way.

  5. Keep it going

    Both

Write a line in the drill log each time you practise, and do the yearly check on Page G.

Printable

  • Page A: Callback cards
  • Page B: Our family callback list
  • Page C: If it happens
  • Page D: Two cards for the screen
  • Page E: What happened
  • Page F: Our family agreement
  • Page G: Our yearly check
  • Seven drill script cards and the drill log (Part 7)
  • Phrases that end a call (Part 3)
  • Safe and Simple AI 60+ as a large-print PDF (printing recommended)

Ground rules

  • Every drill is announced and starts with "This is a drill." Never test anyone with a call they are not expecting.
  • Use the made-up names in the scripts: never your real bank, real amounts or your real safe word.
  • The workbook gives your family a plan made ahead of time. It says on its first page that it can't promise to stop every scam.
  • US reporting sites and phone numbers, read on 5 Oct 2026.

Some safety advice appears in both, from the same official sources. If you have the course, the new material in the workbook is Parts 6, 7 and 9 and the fuller reporting steps in Part 8.

Is it right for you?

Who it's for

  • Adults who are new to AI, or who have tried a chatbot and want to use it with more care.
  • Parents who want house rules for AI, and small-business owners who want a first automation that leaves decisions to a person.
  • Adults 60 and over, or adults buying for a parent or grandparent: print it, sit together for Lesson 3.1, then let them take it from there.

Who it isn't for

  • Children. Claude is for adults 18 and over, and these courses never ask a child to use it.
  • Anyone wanting a qualification. It isn't accredited; the certificate records that you finished this course, nothing more.

Pairs well with

30 Business Lessons

For readers of lesson 4.3, Work and small business, who want to turn a skill into a small service of their own.

Asked before buying

Something else? Write to Miro.

Can my child use Claude?

No. Claude is for adults 18 and over, and you may not share your account with anyone, including your children. In these courses, only an adult ever types or speaks to Claude. If a child has an idea, they tell you or write it on paper, and you type it in your own words. Never put a child's name, face, voice, school or photos into any AI tool.

Do I need to pay for Claude?

No. Every lesson in Safe and Simple AI 60+, and the core of Everyday AI for Adults, works on Claude's free plan. One optional lesson in the adult course (5.7, on agents that take action) covers features that need a paid Claude plan, and it says so.

Do I need to pay for n8n?

Not to follow the course. n8n offers a free 14-day cloud trial, and a free edition you can run on your own computer. Check n8n's current prices before you choose a paid plan.

Is this legal, medical or financial advice?

No. The courses teach you to use AI for questions, and to take decisions to a doctor, pharmacist, lawyer, bank or adviser.

I bought this for my parent. Can they use my account?

No. Claude accounts can't be shared. They set up their own free account, on their own phone, in Lesson 3.1. You can sit next to them while they do it.

What format are the files?

Both editions are video courses: narrated lessons to watch on your access page or download, plus a PDF sized for US Letter paper. Everyday AI for Adults comes as a zip with the PDF, a folder of n8n workflow files (JSON) and a Claude Skill. Open the PDFs on a phone, tablet or computer, or print them. For Safe and Simple AI 60+, printing the PDF is recommended.

Why are some lessons dated?

Apps, screens and prices change. Lessons that depend on them say when they were last checked. If your screen looks different, the lesson tells you what to look for.

Help

What help is included

Access help

  • A lost access page: write from the address you paid with and the link is sent to that address.
  • A download link that has expired: open your access page again; it makes fresh links each time.
  • A file that won't download, unzip or open.

What you can report

  • A mistake in the material: a step that doesn't match what the product says, or a broken link inside a file.
  • A workflow or starter file that doesn't import, run or give the result its guide shows when you use the guide's own made-up test data.
  • Questions about what a product contains, before or after you buy.

Not included

  • Setting up, hosting or adapting a workflow or agent for your own business, accounts or data. That is implementation work, not part of a purchase.
  • Changes in other companies' tools (n8n, Docker, Obsidian, Claude, Google, Stripe). Each guide says when its screens were last checked and points to the tool's own help.
  • Legal, tax, financial or medical advice.

Reporting a broken workflow

  1. Write from the address you paid with, through the contact page, and include your Stripe receipt number if you have it.
  2. Name the product and the lesson, chapter or file.
  3. Say what you did, what the guide says you should see, and what you saw instead. Paste the exact error text.
  4. Never send passwords, API keys or a real customer's details. Use the guide's made-up test data.

When to expect a reply

Miro replies by email within 2 business days.
